Dresden plate - finish

The pretty front

The pretty back
People who don't know me and who have read the last two postings must think I just tear through my quilt projects and do nothing but share the final version.  I only wish that were true.  But, I was very lucky to finish this and send it to its new home where I have been told the cats there approve of it.  I think that is the test of all great art - whether a cat would be willing to sit on it.

This "little" quilt is gigantic and heavy and really makes cats happy.  My work here is done.

  2. That was a lot of work! I really like the colors and how they went together. Even the backing is coordinated. I'm sure the cts are not the only one welcoming it to it's new home.

That's a strikingly modern design with traditional Dresdon pattern. Very nice colors and layout! Congrats on the finish. You mentioned it was heavy. Did you use special batting or doubled up the batting layer? I've been considering switching from 80/20 blend to wool blend because it's a higher loft and still doesn't shrink much.

  5. Inquiring minds want to know - have you ever had a quilt that cats were NOT content to sit on? In any case, your Dresdens are beautiful. I love the way it's set.

  6. This is beautiful. I really do love that mix of yellow and grey, it works so well - even if it wouldn't work in my house :)
