A day at the mines

I worked my fingers to the bone on the long-arm quilting this today.  At least I had my grande mocha frappuccino to keep me company.  Also, when I just googled frappuccino to check on the spelling the google search came up with "mocha frappuccino calories."  This is something I do not want to know.  Damn you, google search and your guilt trips.

I still have to bind this.  Either my allergy meds are wearing me out or I have consumption, but I just don't have any energy lately.  I'm going with consumption because it is retro and, I think, the next trendy disease.  Everyone will want consumption when I am done with it.

  1. Nice work with the long arm. How long did it take you to get the hang of it?

I believe frappuccinos have no calories. Just like ice cream and cheesecake, and my other favorite things!

  2. Well, let's just say I'm learning. I took the class at Bayside Quilting and got familiar with how it works, but thought it would be easy to do complicated designs my first time out. That was a bit of a disaster, but the cats are enjoying the quilt that I ended up giving them. The next time I just used a free hand stipple pattern that turned out much better. My biggest issue now with the long arm is not to go too fast. I need to remember that I've got all the time in the world and just do freehand nice and slow. What I really should do is get some "test" fabric and go play on it for a day. That would probably make me much more comfortable. Still, it is much better (for me) than messing about on my home machine.
